people do ask their government why all the time, that is why there is so much going on!

Well, for one thing the 'government' doesn't build or run power plants, private industry does. I'm always amazed at people who accuse a leader of being 'dictatorial' then complain when the same person doesn't manage to dictate *their* desires into existence. The Governor, like any other person, has both physical and legal limits to his power.

Private industry will build new power plants only when they can do so profitably; and thanks to environmental wackos and the extremely unfriendly business climate of California, it isn't profitable. And you can thank the legislature for that, not the Governor. You want more power plants, get your representative to change the law so private companies will have an incentive to build them.

Second, you need to stop being a whiny little baby and demanding the 'government' do everything for everybody. How about getting off your fat lay a** and doing something instead of waiting for some self-interested politicians to spend other people's money accomplishing your goals for you?

Hint: People used to live through hot spells *WITHOUT AIR CONDITIONING.* Put down your iPod and ask Granny how she did it - before the old lady cooks.

Why ask why?

Just bend over and squeeze out some more electricity. Global Warming is a myth. Droughts happen. This is the coolest summer on record for Central Florida, are we having localized Global Cooling too? Blah, forget it.

Liberals control the colleges and the media. So natrually the world seems messed up!

We have had hot summers before. Some even much hotter than this one and had no problem providing enough energy to everyone. I think the government is in cohoots with the power companies to intentionally short the supply of electricity in order to lay the ground work for increasing the prices again and again.

Is it just me or has the electric cost per Kw doubled in the past 3 years.

Why is it that people always want to hold the government responsible for everything that goes wrong. When are people going to start taking responsibility for their own situations and quit taking the easy way out by always putting the blame on some one else.

We did ask "Why?" And the answer was that "because the environmentalists won't let us build any more power plants and refineries."

they do ask, but government is too stupid to help and notice what's going on. they're too worried about their own agendas to worry about human suffering.

Stupidity comes to mind. They just don't want to admit they were wrong. SAD isn't it?
