The AKC is a club, made up of national breed clubs and national and local performance clubs. Go to: www.akc.org and see how you can apply to be a member. It's easy and inexpensive.

You are a member when you register a dog..the clubs you can join are the parent club for your breed...Also, each area around the country has its own AKC club, that sponsors the events and shows in your area..And you can certainly join your local AKC club.

Your vet will tell you which club is in your area.. and they usually have flyers for them there...Also, most pet supply shops can tell you when and where the local club meets.
