It doesn't hurt them but it will be a little sore around where they got the shot so try not to touch them in that area. And I wouldn't scratch his belly for a while but after a few days definitly take him in to a vet if he is still sore.

Did he get his shots in the belly? Change vets, NOW! Seriously though, some vaccines are intramuscular and cause a little soreness. If it was a 'live' vaccine, it can even make the dog sick for a day or so. I think something else is wrong with your dog.

I have never had a dog yelp from an injection site. And the belly isn't involved in vaccinations.

This would worry me & I would speak to the vet that vaccinated my dog.

No. The dog may just be a weenie. They do not give the shots in those places. Take the dogs temp and make sure there is no fever. It may not be the vaccine, the dog may have been coming down with something anyway.
If the problem persists into Monday..see a vet.

yes vaccines are normally given in the hip of the dog and rarely the neck, your dog should not be showing any pain from the belly.Call your vet something else is going on.

vaccination shot for dogs are usually in their back, so i dont see why your dog would be sensitive that way. Did you see how he was handled when being vaccinated? Maybe he got traumatized when he was being restrained and his legs ot all stretched out and sore. be gentle on him for a while

They will feel miserable for about a week after vaccinations.
Before getting anymore, read the Wisconsin University weblinks.

They are not needed or recommend for annual use.

Yes it does just like it would you. Just leave the poor thing alone for a while. It'll get better.
