I guess I'm thinking of "Christian's" like Pat Robertson calling for assassinations and murder in the same sentences in which they invoke the Bible.

It's scary as hell. Which is where Pat Robertson is going.

Well, I think you've basically illustrated in your question that it's not a good thing.

I find it astonishing that Robertson (who holds a lot of sway with Bush and his cronies) can call for the assassination of Hugo Chavez, democratically elected leader (twice, and by a huge margin) of Venezuela. But then, the CIA were trying to do the same thing a few years ago. And this from the "Land of the free"? The proponent of democracy world wide? I think not. The proponent of puppet states with governments basically selected by the US government. Example: Fidel Castro is probably the most popular leader (within his own country) in the world, but the US refuse to do any business with him. Granted, he's got flaws, as has Cuba, but given that they have suffered over 40 years of a trade embargo from who was their biggest trading partner and are still able to provide a living wage and free, good quality health-care to all it's citizens (something the USA fails to do), I think Castro and Cuba as a nation should be applauded.

Why does all of this happen? It's because of the Christian right in the USA and the vice like grip they seem to have over every administration.

It is a good thing when it is done in a loving and caring way. Some evangelism organizations go out to provide medical care to the needy in 3rd world countries.

Pat Robertson acts like a hypocrite. Either he wants attention or he's suffering from dementia.

I find the movement is OK, but there are a variety of Evangelicals out there. You've simply got to judge individual actions.

Most Christians that I know found Robertson's call for assassination out of line, and against the faith.

If Pat Robertson is the picture of an Evangelistic Christian then it must be a bad thing.

Nope, they alienate ppl around them, Christianity teaches love and pat Robinson does not love, he is mean and hateful and if evangelistic Christians aren't like that then he's sure giving the wrong impression of them, i cant stand to be near Evangelists, they just annoy me so much!

Guess what? Christians are just people who gave their lives and the junk in them to Jesus. Now they are trying to become more like Him. It's a lifelong process not an instant breakfast!

TV Evangelism, isn't really good, I don't think. All they want is $$$$$$$$$$$ they are phoney acting. I really cant stand that one woman withe the bleached blond hair, fake eyelashes, toodark tan, and way to much make-up, they are one reason I don't bother watching TV anymore.

Evangelism is good for the creeps that get rich preaching their hate, but it is bad for everybody else. Makes you hate Christianity.

No. They frighten people away from Christianity and probably have people ignore their own spirituality as a result.
