For most women, an episiotomy or tear heals within a week or two--long before she is ready for sex. For some women, it takes months or years or never heals.

Well the episotomy is worse then a tear. If u had a tear you will heal faster. But I would wait at least 2 more weeks before you decide to " do the night thing" if oyu get an infectionm or you re tear TRUST me you will wish you were going through labor all over again... So try it in 2 weeks...It will hurt the first time most likely ..kinda like losing your virginity. But after a few times it will be back to normal..good luck

Your ob should tell you when you can resume your "night activities"...usually 6 weeks after delivery. If he has not told you and you have already had your first post partum visit, then you need to call the office and check what he recommends.
While the episiotomy is probably healed by now, many women have episiotomy discomfort for 3 to 4 months after delivery.
Congratulations on the new baby!

Since you tore in 2 places pretty badly, I would advise you to wait until your 6 week check-up. That way the doctor can tell you if you are healed enough to do it.

It's different for everyone, but after just 1 week I felt more normal. It took 4 weeks before I was able to have sex though.
They say to wait 6 weeks, but I would go on how you feel instead. Since you are asking this question, it sounds like you are not ready. I would wait at least 2 more week.

When you go in for your 6 week check up (don't miss it), your doctor can tell you if things are healed enough. You don't want to start too soon and tear yourself because it isn't strong yet.
Keep in mind, it may be sore for awhile after that. Take your time and slowly get back to "normal".

You should be healed, I tore extremely bad, (per my Doctors opinion.) He gave me the go ahead at my one month visit. With my other pregnancies it only took 2 weeks to heal...but if you don't want to it makes for a wonderful excuse LOL.

Its different for every woman. If it is as bad as it sounds, I would wait another 2 weeks, and then check it out and see how you feel. Just take it week by week. You can even call your doctor and have her look at it if you are unsure. The last thing you want to do is have sex before the stictches are completely dissolved , ouch!

4 to 6 weeks. I didn't have stitches at all, so I thought I would be good to go after 2 week and boy did I regret that.
