Tithes today are made of GROSS earnings. Simply because "Caesar" takes his first from each paycheck with taxes, insurance, etc. God should be first, so the Gross amount is what is used for the amount to Tithe.
Leviticus 27:30 And all the tithe of the land, whether of the seed of the land, or of the fruit of the tree, is the LORD'S: it is holy unto the LORD.
Leviticus goes on from there to finish up with:
Leviticus 27:34 These are the commandments, which the LORD commanded Moses for the children of Israel in mount Sinai.
Tithing is clearly stated as being put in the law. Almost every argument I have had over tithing, the opponent will say "yes but tithing was before the law," then they quote:
Genesis 14:20 And blessed be the most high God, which hath delivered thine enemies into thy hand. And he gave him tithes of all.
There are Tithes and there are Offerings. They are separate. An offering is sacrificed over and above the Tithe. Such as missions, food bank, clothes bank, etc.
P.S. My answer was in relation to your question. Of course, I have my Savior and my Savior has me.

Yes I do. But you cannot do so until you understand who Ceasar is and what things are his, and you cannot come close to any of these except you are willing to understand who God is, what are His and ready to render to Him as "He", not "You" pleases. Many think they know who Caesar is but do not.
You render to God what is His by Loving Him with all your heart, body and soul - you don't hurt whom you love or doubt what he says,lovers are jealous and God says I am Jealous hence He cannot share your devotion with anyother, it either whole or nothing. You cannot give what you do not have - Love God, then you will know who Ceasar is and under this circumstance can you render to him what is his. May you find sunshine on your path....

Living sacrifices have a tendency to crawl off the alter. It's sometimes very hard to crawl back on knowing you're at at the mercy of a God who at times appears not to care. Having full faith that whatever He calls you to do that the Spirit will give you strength to do it.

It means;
Know the things that are of the physical world, that they will not be in Heaven for you.
What you have that belongs to God is your spirit/soul/life-force, nurture and broaden your spirit for God

Yes.
I love this quote, because it demonstrates that Jesus was the first proponent of Separation of Church and State. Chew on that!
