This is what my teacher jesus said, I believe him.

The spirit part of us or soul is a part of God.

God is the original, or background consciousness that all individual consciousness emanates from. We seem to be separate from God but this idea of separation is no more than an illusion made believable by the idea that we are a separate individual physical body. At the dissolution of the body or death the truth of what we are, of what God is once again becomes apparent.

At the moment of this realization the individual self is not lost, the true self is simply realized.

This is how it was explained to me.

I am the ocean, you are the raindrops. We are the same. You raindrops, because of your similar size and location, see yourselves as separate, as units, as individuals. This perception of your selves has been your only reality since you were born in the clouds. You have no other perspective of your selves. As you fall through your short lives here, you see the ocean far below. On a certain level you understand that it and you are one and the same. You envy its magnificence. The thought comes,” I am water too, am I not also part of this magnificence?” Then you realize that you are but an insignificant raindrop. You can only look at that distant ocean in awe. The ocean with its timeless knowledge sees you quite differently. It sees you for what you really are. Its most precious children, bravely returning home to share the experience that ocean as a whole could never have experienced. The ocean has nothing but love for you. Because it understands that it is you, and that you are it. It knows only truth. Until the moment you reunite you can only speculate. The ocean's love for you is unconditional. It holds no foolish thought of punishing you for not falling quite right. It only waits with great patience for your homecoming.

The tiny collisions you had with the other drops on the way down, at the time seemed so significant. Often you feared that if you mingled with them too long you might get to close and in the process even lose your identity. All this because you understood your true identity not! You are ocean, you always were ocean, you always will be ocean. How you currently perceive yourself raindrop, snow flake, puddle, stream, River, or lake matters not. This is all illusion, only perception. You are ocean, you are spirit. You and I are one; we are the All That Is!

God is realised in three phases:-

The first level of realisation is that the Supreme is an impersonal, all pervading consciousness, in Sanskrit, known as Brahman or "The white light" in colloquial terms.

The second level of realisation is of the "Paramatma" or "Supersoul" , that is existing within each one of us to accompany each individual soul on their journey through the material world.

The third and highest level of realisation is of the Supreme Personality Of Godhead, of which the Paramatma expansion and Brahman effulgence are component parts.

The individual soul, that is temporarily covered by a gross material body and a subtle material identity, can use the human form of life, which possesses free will to once again reconnect with the Supreme.

"God" can be interpreted in 2 ways.

A being that made everything and.... tells people to write a lot of deep and conflicting stories.

OR a reference to the wholeness of everything- all the energy in the universe. Energy can't be created or destroyed (but it can change in FORM). Energy is and always has been. All the energy is, more or less, god. But unless people can put a image to "god" they dislike the feeling.

Everyone and everything is made of energy. Which is changing form. So god isn't IN us or SEPARATE: we're all part of god, the whole. So we're all "god's children.".

....this isn't to push anything on you. And most people are too closed-minded to accept something like this, but it's all about how you think. Can you think of something as a metaphor? or does it have to be cut and dry.

You are kidding right? Haven't you ever heard of Osama Bin Laden? Or the story of Saddam Husein and the chipper/shredder? Or Jeffery Dahmmer? Charles Manson?

God's Spirit cannot reside in us until we are cleansed by water Baptism to wash away original sin. Even then we can only contain a small amount of God's Spirit depending on how much we have died to self.

Yes, I wholeheartedly agree. I believe "god" is the sum of all the good that mankind is capable of and not some omnipotent diety to which we must strive toward. I also believe that "satan" is within us all and keeps us from achieving that which we are capable.

No. We were created with God's qualities within us (in God's image) but God is separate and apart from us. We prove that with the stupid decisions we make every day.

absolutely...He can feel what u feel ( that is ultimatley what mercy is, to feel someones pain completely, take their problem as your own and help them recover , and we know God is merciful) , He sees what u see and what u dont, and He can hear and see your thoughts...how else could He do that if He is not within us? Personally i know He is with me, because i asked for His Holy Spirit to be with me. Besides, God already told you He knows everything why else would He be called The All-Knowing God? ...He's even with those who oppose Him, because everyone is a potential believer of Christ

Yes I believe that, and I believe that we are supposed to show our love to our fellow man, through the God that is within us.

That's called pantheism. The belief that we are all part of God, and that God is in all of us.
I believe in a specific branch of pantheism called "naturalistic pantheism", which believes that the universe and nature is a form of non-sapient "god" that encompasses all of us.

No, "God" is a made-up creature designed to keep the human species enslaved to an elite cadre of wealthy oligarchs.
