It's not found in our materalistic society.
It's found within the close relationship between you and the Heavenly Father. Realizing the magnitude of the grace extended to us and the depth of His love for us, along with this loving relationship, equates to a peace that passes all understanding.
I hope you find it.

I think that to feel peace, you must trust your life and the decisions you make to God. It takes a lot of trust to let go, and I still have a hard time with it - it's a conscious decision that I have to make from time to time... usually when the going gets rough. Whether one's culture is materialistic or not has no bearing on one's peace. You can have nothing, everything, or be in-between, and either be at peace or not. It just depends on your reliance on God's wisdom. I think that worship also helps - many Christians report that when they attend church they are happier; it's true for me.

It is an inner peace achieved through prayer and dedication. If you find your peace in nature or in the forest then perhaps you should consider living a life of reclusion. Or at least reside in the country.
Peace Be With You,

It needs to be sought. Someone made the analogy about a bank robber searching for a policeman. Their search is not an earnest one so that they might find a policeman!
When you are in the forest, pray and ask God to show you how to get that peace. I like forests and places where people are not because I am not distracted. Since I moved to the big city, it hasn't happened like that.

The peace of Messiah is internal and not external. I've found it. Or more to say that it is spiritual and not material. The spirit can not feed the flesh and the flesh cannot feed the spirit. Sort of the same way that car's can't run on water (at least not yet) and you can't put out a fire with gasoline...

If one finds Christ then there's a good chance peace will be with you. It's our fallen nature that drives us to display our contradictory sides. It's easy to go out in nature and find peace--that's child's play. The test is to go out amongst ourselves, out into the middle of the herd, and find and/or create it.
Too fast and too often out of plain ignorance and stupidity we criticize religion, thinking it's cool or too afraid to standup to someone with liberal ideas.
Peace? It's there, we just have to work for it.

I am sad that you don't walk in peace. Jesus offers Shalom peace, freely. One of the names of God is Jehovah Shalom. When I have turmoil in my life, there is peace in me still. It is the indwelt knowledge and life of Jesus Christ. If I wouldn't have that, I don't know what I would have been like. Job went through so much in the Old Testament, but fully relied on God, knowing He would carry him through. No one said life would be all peaches and cream, but I walk in peace daily.
be blessed in Jesus

To find that peace, one has to acknowledge and repent of their sins, ask God for forgiveness and be willing to follow Jesus.
