Having your wisdom teeth taken out is definitely no picnic.
But it usually helps your mouth & teeth from becoming too crowded or crooked.
Recovery time is different with each individual but I'd say a good week is probably average. Make sure you have plenty of liquids to drink & lots of soft foods to eat. Set yourself up in front of the tv, be a couch potato for a few days & you'll be fine.

Everyone is different but I'm sure you will be OK. My daughter had all 4 of hers out with general anesthesia and did great. The entire procedure took about 20 minutes. Just eat soft foods after wards and take the pain meds the dentist gives you and you will be a brand new person :-) My daughter fully recovered in a week. Rinse your mouth out with warm water and salt to prevent food from getting in the sockets where the tooth was pulled. You definitely do not want an infection. Good luck, you'll be fine!

It's not as bad as people make it out to be. The recovery time is different for everyone. Mine was about a week and a half. It depends on how impacted they are too. All of mine were so, it was a bit longer. In my opinion, looking like a chipmunk or a hamster is the worst part. I am going to warn you though, you are going to lose weight. I lost about 13 pounds. Maybe try drinking a lot of protien shakes while you're recovering. That will also help with the crappy feeling. DOn't worry, I promise you will make it through!

Are they just being pulled our or are they being 'cut' out by an oral surgeon? If they are just being pulled out, recovery is like 24 hours and you can eat as soon as you feel like it. You just cant smoke or drink through straws after wards.
If they are being cut out you will be put under anesthesia through and IV... no pain for you until the meds wear off in about 12 hours. You will be very tired when you wake up and groggy... you will be too sleepy to eat! They will give you GREAT pain meds and you will have stitches if removed this way. Still cant smoke or drink from straws till the stitches are gone. But you can eat and drink when you feel like it.
Good luck and relax. The discomfort over 2 days is a heck of allot better then the headaches and jaw aches the non removal will cause.

Since your a male, P a i n f u l recovery. You will get a few injections to the area where they will remove the wisdom teeth. that will hurt as the needle is going into the gum. After a while you will not feel anything, but be aware of everything. Later when you finish your whole mouth will feel numb. Later as the pain killer wears off you should retire to your bed and take tydenol. There if you had one taken out like my ex husband did after me, you will lie there moaning about how it hurts. I you were female and had 4 taken out all at once (like me)you take the tydenol, rest and listen to you husband asks if you are still going to pick up the kids from school. I did and cooked dinner.

I had all 4 of mine out at one time- they were all impacted. Don't worry about that. 2 days of discomfort. I wasn't in pain, but I also took the general anesthesia. I'm not afraid of the dentist, I just hate holding my mouth open for that long.
It was sooo easy. I go to sleep, I wake up, I talk funny, I feel REALLY good, from the meds... I go home, I be lazy for a little while, change the swabs in my mouth from time to time from the blood.. no big deal.. And back to work on Monday. Yeah. I did take Thursday and Friday off-- but I had a nice relaxing weekend. I did not take ANY of the medication they gave me to take home...I do have a high tolerance for pain though. Only you know how you feel about that.

Here is the best piece of advice you will get for this: The first day you have them pulled, sleep sitting up that night. This will help keep the blood flow from your mouth & greatly decrease the swelling. I was able to eat solid food the next day, well, kind of, but honestly this really works. It's hell trying to do it all night, but worth missing some extra pain & misery. Getting them pulled is really not that bad.

I am so sorry to hear you have to get your wisdom teeth out. don't worry , it isn't that bad. I think I was out for two days from work, that is all. Make sure you have a ride there and back though. When I got my wisdom teeth out I thought I saw rainbow people with bright gold instruments. I was really out of it. Good luck on the procedure and don't worry to much about it.

this will vary from person to person. I ate solid food the next day! I had no problems with this type of surgery. I cried when i came out of the room because i did not have anyone familliar there but other than that, i had virtually no pain and could eat solid food the next day.Very easy surgery, do it soo it doesn't HAVE to be done.

If you have the four out at one time you will experience swelling and some pain. Your dentist should give you some pain medicine and the swell will last a week or two, depending on the individual. If you drink plenty of sports drinks you should be OK.. Soft eggs and etc should help.
