<< Would the world be better off if persons sought forgiveness for their sins from those they have sinned against instead of seeking it from some deity whose existence is problematic? >>

Absolutely. That Lord's Prayer line **forgive us as we forgive** is not a suggestion; it's an expression of a karmic law, like the golden rule. We are not forgiven unless we forgive. And what is done to us reflects what we have done to others. That's the simple truth of it.

That is completely BIblical. You seek forgiveness from God and when possible, the one you hurt or have fallen away from. And their response is not up to you, but to seek forgiveness and reconciliation is.
If we say that is what God teaches, why is that problematic?
All love and truth comes from God alone.

Yes, if you sin against a person-you should attempt reconciliation and forgiveness, provided you have repented. If you sin against God the same applies. A person can kill you, but they can not send you to hell.

Actually, in Christianity both paths are commanded.

"Therefore, if you are offering your gift at the alter, and there remember your brother has something against you, leave your gift there, and go, be reconciled to your brother. Then, come and offer your gift!"--Jesus Christ

They should do both. They should not be confessing to God and not taking care of the neighbor they offended.

no, some people, even when you apologise, and are sincere, won't accept and will be hateful.

Been there, done that.
