Yikes...been there. Okay, deep breath. Get on anti-depressant. Paxil is a good one for you but ask Dr. Take "baby steps", pray alot for guidance from God to help you. Find the beauty in nature and find something to do that gives you pleasure. Go to church. Volunteer if you can. Don't watch too much news. Read some "Chicken Soup for the Soul" books. Soul search and start to change little things that you can, such as meal planning to eat better, get some exercise. Take good care of yourself and LOVE yourself. I am amazed how far I have come. I now work in behavior health, no longer drink, started college, and am now happier than I have ever been in my 44 years of life. Good luck to you. It may take a little time but if you work at a little each day you will be amazed at how far you get. I have now what I never dreamed possible for me.

I'm not sure what you mean by "stuck at home." If you've been depressed that long, then you need to see a counselor or psychologist. Your primary care physician (PCP) should readily give you a referral depending on your insurance. Many insurance companies nowadays do not even require that you get a referral from your PCP. Check your insurance card and call the mental health number they have listed for more information. You can do this privately without anyone finding out (unless you are a minor). Talking with someone is a very good way to end depression. You may, however, need medications to go along with treatment. When people do one without the other (meds without counseling for example) their mind and body may go through changes (a possible increase in impulsivity) and without a professional to help you through these changes a person may misunderstand feeling better with feeling worse. Good luck.

Get a Part-time job where you can interact with other people without having to tell your Life story. After a couple of checks you will have the spending money to go out with your new found co-workers Karaoke the night away and make sure it's in your hometown because gossip will happen people will report to others you both know that they saw you and within a few weeks your long lost friend if still alive and not in jail will call you and you will not be depressed because you have a job a few new friends and the one you lost touch with back to keep you company

Ya need to get out. That will help a lot. Go out with family or a friend for even just a couple hours at a time and slowly work your way back into society. Once you get back in the swing of life. . things will start looking up.

Why have you been stuck at home for two years? I think a change of scenery is important.

See a thereapist about your depression, he or she may want you to try an antidepressant. I would suggest you try PaxilCR. It worked wonders for me. Good luck to you.

Get yourself to a therapist. You'll be surprised at how fast you'll feel better and mad at yourself for waiting so long to get help.
