The dog was mine it had all the proper shots and the wound has healed, it occured April 2006.

The bite marks are very small about a centimeter long but still noticible.

It sounds as though this just happened.

Your first priority is to verify that the dog is up to date with his rabies shots, report the dog to your local health department, then get a tetanus shot; at that time the medical personnel can tell you how long it will take to heal - depends on severity and location.

Don't let this slide. A scar could be the least of your worries.

As for the dog - let the vet and health dept. decide whether the dog was provoked to bite or not.

Did you mean to put it as "wound"ering instead of wondering? I think that is cute. I have never heard of Mederma, but it should say on the tube, or you could ask your doctor. Probably will take a few months, at least, if not a year. I hope the scar will fade to almost nothing very soon for you. I don't think it will ever go completely away.
