Getting married in a little less than a year and don't want to pay $1,000 for a brand new wedding dress. I am considering buying one that was a sample dress off the Internet. I have someone to alter it if it doesn't fit.

Just curious if anyone knows of a good reliable place to find a wedding dress!!!

Thanks for your help!!! :)

Ok, so here's what I did... I went to David's Bridal and fell in love with a dress there, only problem was that it was around $800 (not exactly within my budget). So I went to ebay for the first time ever and typed in the description of that exact dress. 30 seconds later, I found the same dress! It was made by a dress shop one state away that specializes in making dresses from major bridal shops. Not only was it in my size, never been worn, tags still on it, money back guarentee, and only $300! So I bought it, and it came within 2 days in perfect condition!!! Do yourself a favor if you want to save money...... go to ebay!

Hi, I just bought my dress at Bride Save. They are great!!! I do not know if they have sample dresses, however, they discount their dresses. My Marsia gown was marked up to $1900 at the local bridal store. Their price $975. They have many other gowns for way under $1000. They have a list of references at the bottom of the home page. http://www.bridesave.com/ They can also custom design a dress. I would recommend visiting your local bridal store, pick out a few gowns you like. Make sure to get the designer style number. Not the bridal store tag number. Sometimes this is hard to get. Keep working for it the store will give it to you. With that number call bride save, they can give you a quote. Happy searching!!! Good luck and Congrats!!

I purchased my wedding dress a few weeks age from JCPENNYS on line catalog it cost only 61.00 I love it!! Also there are a bunch of stores on the Internet that you can find great deals. Before you purchase ask questions, read everything, and if there a number to call i would say call and talk to them.

Here is something my friend is doing: she went onto weddingchannel.com and looked up a ton of dresses. SHe picked out a few, invited me over for crtitque, and then we picked one out. I am going to make it for her. If you know of someone who is a good seamstress, I suggest finding a dress, and having a friend make it for you. I guarentee you that it will not only be cheaper than buying one, but you will be able to makt it customized in whatever way. Custome coture is super cool!
