We have a 6 week old sheltie cross puppy. When we got him this morning he was covered in fleas so we got some spray that the vet recommended to kill the fleas off of her and we also got her some liquid drops for worming her. Tonight she's acting funny- real sleepy (which I know is normal for little puppies) but she's also kind of wobbly having a hard time keeping her balance.. We called the emergency line at the vet but they told us she's probably dehydrated and that's it... I'm still concerned though, any ideas?

Yes, the flea spray will often cause that kind of reaction in a young pup. IF YOU SUSPECT YOUR PET IS HAVING AN ADVERSE REACTION TO A FLEA PRODUCT...

1. BATHE YOUR PET WITH MILD SOAP AND RINSE WITH LARGE AMOUNTS OF WATER.

2. IF SIGNS CONTINUE, CONSULT A VETERINARIAN IMMEDIATELY.

3. REPORT IT TO THE MANUFACTURER OF THE PRODUCT AND THE U.S. EPA.

I found several sites concering this, and they are recommended the same.

I agree with the pesticide poisoning! Wash the flea spray off of your pup NOW. These are petroleum based products so, Dawn dish washing liquid will cut through it. Place a drop of mineral oil in each eye before you begin. Lather well use cool water and rinse, rinse, rinse.

Give plenty of water and if he doesn't improve, time for the vet. Puppies can die from too much pesticides, that stuff is poison.

puppies shouldn't be taken away from their mom that young and they shouldn't be sprayed with chemicals either. try feeding him something rich like oatmeal. i used to raise goldern retreivers and sheet zus. they always grew up healthy and great. but check his gums. if they are white it doesn't have anything to do with the flea stuff it's parvo and it's fatal! my puppy had it and she was really sleepy and could barely walk and she was dehydrated also.if you gave him too much wormer that's also fatal.
