I already have a elbow wrap (no magnets) but the pain from my tendonitis is shooting down into my wrist too. So I went to Zellers and got a wrist wrap that has magnets (removeable). I'm just wondering if anyone has had any success with magnetic therapy.

I have carpal tunnel syndrome and use a wrist band with magnets. As far as I can tell there is no way it should work, but it sure makes my wrist, forearm and hand feel better. I always had to wear those big wrist braces that immobilized my whole wrist. Those work, but they get in the way because, well, it immobilized my whole wrist. With the magnetic wrist band, I have full range of motion and no pain. I've never been able to find anything explaining why it works. Most experts will tell you it shouldn't work, but hey, no pain, I'm happy.

Some folks on here mentioned the placebo effect. IDK. I don't believe in all the new age/alternative medicine stuff. I never believed in magnet therapy. I only tried this because a coworker wouldn't leave me alone about it. Despite my certainty that it wouldn't work, it does.

u need to watch the alternative medicine episode of penn & teller

basically there is nothing in the body that contains enough iron (not even ure blood) which will respond to a magnetic field.

therefore, the effect of these magnets is a display of the power of your mind. which is a fancy name for the placebo effect.

Quack. Quack. Quack.

I've never heard anyone say anything about how magnets have helped their pain.

May I suggest gentle, slow lap swimming as hydrotherapy for your tendons and connective tissue. See your doctor and strongly consider going to a "physiatrist," a doctor of physical condition and connective tissue.

Magnets are a placebo. It works because you want it to, or doesn't because you don't really believe in them.
