Take it slow. Maybe do something interesting for his birthday, for Xmas, etc. See how it goes. The key thing is for both of you to be comfortable with your sex life, so lead him down the road gently and see where it goes...
Sometimes, for some people, the fantasy is better than the reality. If you and he are comfortable with the reality, then that is great.
