Our great country was founded on Christianity. They provide the foundation for people to be moral and active citizens. It is those who don't follow a Christian life that tend to stray away from ethics and morality and create a hateful and unethical society. I am not sure what conceited has to do with your question and no, Christians are not running America. If they were there would be no baby killing or abnormal unions between people.

No, and I am not sure I want Christians to "run" anything country. I believe that no Government should be controlled by any religious group simply for the reason of abuse with power. However; I do believe more Christians should run for office and be in positions of policy making or at least voting.
It would be great if everyone would follow God's laws, ie the Ten Commandments, but the sad truth is everyone would not and does not.

It's getting pretty close. Christian 'Dominionists' have largely usurped the local level political apparatus of the Republican Party, and are engaged in a sub rosa process to politically motivate moderate Christians under the false cover of religious issues such as morality and family values. The goal is nothing less than the takeover of all elective offices in the USA.

Their doctrine comes from the Bible, starting with the term 'dominion' at Genesis 1:28... “And God said unto them, [Adam and Eve] Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth and subdue it; and have DOMINION… over every living thing.” They interpret DOMINION as: “... a supremacy in determining and directing the actions of others or in governing politically, socially, or personally.”

They want to remake the USA as a theocracy... and they are succeeding.

Wake up. Take a stand. Do something... for we are sowing the seeds of our own destruction, while these religious nut-jobs are awaiting God's demolition job.

OK shhhhh don't tell anyone but we started our dastardly plan about 20 years ago. We started having big families when the Atheists were going with zero-2 kids. So now we are reaping the benefits. Our kids are ready to vote now and they are well-propagandized to vote for those who would further the cause of Christ. Soon they will be running for offices at higher and higher levels of government!!!!! Hahahahahaahahahahahahahahhah.......

If you had TRUE CHRISTIANS running this country you wouldn't have the scandals in business that are so prevalent.
Abortion would be outlawed.
Rapist and child molesters would be castrated.
I think you get the idea.

Yes, in the sense that the majority of politicians are Christian, but no in the sense that their Christian beliefs aren't affecting their political decisions.

No. Christians are not running America.
That is what you are meant to think, but it is not true.

In rebuttal to some of the answers here, I would say...I am a Christian, and nobody has asked me my opinion...
Come to think of it, it doesn't appear that they are asking Jesus' opinion, either....
