Dude. It would be terrible. People would be dying of cancer 200 years later. Nagasaki and Hiroshima have YET to get over the effects left after the a-bomb was dropped on them, and that was in the 40's.

Imagine that happening world wide, now that the arms race is over.

You could pretty much take what happened with the looters of Hurricane Katrina, the sick people from the tsunami, and the economic failure of both, and apply that worldwide.

Human kind would recover, but only after suffering terrible loss to life as we now know it.

I would not go into the gory details of a nuclear holocust. It would go farther afield.

Our descendents(it is another matter they would dissociate themselves from us) will fight with stone and stone implements.Unfortunately, its semblance with similar activities earlier in the evolution would be only superficial. The primitive man in the dawn of development making do with stone implements was on an upward curve . Our post-nuclear descendents(subject to confirmation by them) would be on a steep downward slope in that age of twilight of mankind.

assuming that after whoever launched their's first at whoever. they would automatically start shooting back unless they have no nuclear capabilities then we would come rushing to their aid fighting back. During these attacks major strategic targets would be destroyed, millions would be dead more wounded or dying, the enviromental affect would be total blackout of the skies. Washington, major port cities, military bases, large threat areas (midwest=fields full of nukes) would instantly be destroyed. those who survived without any damage would be in the middle of the ocean in subs or in space.

well, people can't take radiation for long, it's gonna mess you up internally within the 1st 15 min.(if you're wearing one of those suits)..and that's outside the where the bombs hit....

if ppl are surviving, they're still gonna suffer from the fallout and poor weather conditions. Eventually the people who don't (get burned to death/die from the radiation/kill themselves) will just be very sick and starve.
