come on now, Jenny. you sound like you're at a really good size. do you feel bad when around your friends? or fat? if you do, then even if you lose a couple of pounds, you'll still probably feel the same way around them. and as you get older--unless you're going into media as a career--people will look less at your body and will consider your personality more. you are your own worst critic as far as your body goes and, believe it or not, there are those who think you look FANTASTIC and are just not telling you. You need to be comfortable with yourself, Jenny. If you're feeling competitive about your weight when around your friends, you may want to consider some new friends. If there's something else going on that you're dissatisfied with your body, or other things, then you should confide in your Mom, or another adult you're close with, and maybe seek help elsewhere (counseling, Big Sisters, volunteering, etc.). Good luck, Jenny!

You can't diet without telling your mom. Doesn't she buy your food? Why would you want to diet? Not every girl in your school is built exactly the same, carries the same genetic structure, or even is SUPPOSED to weigh the same.

Please, don't validate who you are by what others look like. This world is already too conscious about "sexy," or "thin," or "tall," or "Blondie," or "unwrinkled," or surgically enhanced, altered, sponged, gooed, goofed, and messed up!

I would rather you worry about who you helped feel better about themselves today. I would rather you wonder whether or not the old man who sits on the bench in the park has something to eat for lunch---and take him an apple.

I would rather you look for something you can do for someone else than worry about how much weight you carry on your bones. Because, I bet you a coconut---if you're very busy, very active in helping others, making sure someone else has something to eat, making sure some "old lady" down the street has her medicine prescription from the drug store, or your mom doesn't have to worry about fixing dinner or doing the laundry this week---because you've taken care of it---you will burn off any pounds God did not intend for you to have.

Look in the mirror and ask yourself: Who might be happy today because I helped?" And GO FOR IT!!!

YOU DON'T NEED TO DIET!!!! You could start eating healthier. Stop the junk food. Eat only three meals a day with lots of veggies. Drink lots of water..... Just dropping the junk out of your diet may make you lose a few pounds. Skinny isn't always healthy. I would kill to weigh what you do

Any time you diet in secrecy, you put yourself at risk for becoming obsessed with your weight, and developing anorexia. Don't do it! Be honest and tell your Mom. You would be better off NOT dieting and exercising more. It's better for you.

you don't need to diet, you sound perfectly fine to me. And besides, your friends weigh less then you because they are also shorter than you. You have nothing to worry about.
