The ones who "talk big" aren't so much into atheism as into anti-theism. The real, genuine atheists deal with the discussion of a higher power from an un-emotional, mostly educational perspective. If your belief that there is no God is genuine, then the fools who sit in judgment over you don't bother you because their rantings carry as much weight as a Saturday morning cartoon.
Those who squirm and kick against faith and people of faith do so because they are not so sure of their beliefs, the same as those who claim faith in God who feel that God needs their help defending Himself are discovering the weaknesses in their own beliefs.
I've checked out a number of the genuine atheists here, and trust me, they deserve much more credit than you are giving them. This forum is a good place to breed understanding, and understanding overcomes fear. People will always be different. They will always have different beliefs. Whoever may be right or wrong, the only absolute proof will be born out in the next life, so until that time, let us TRY to live peaceably with each other.

Let people believe what they want. It's a lost cause. Besides, preaching is what we hate, isn't it? Don't be like them.
What I want to know why most everyone over 18 who complains about Bush won't take their message to the streets or do something substantive: Call or write their Congressmen, or even vote for that matter.

Maybe it is because you are being neutralized by God from leading people astray. Another possability is because you know in your heart the God exists because God has given the entire Universe as evidence.
