If personal salvation is the true purpose of religion, why judge people on what path they wish to take to get there? And by what means, if someone wishes to partake in another religion, does that give others the right to disrespect someone else's choice? What ever happened to that phrase in the Bill of Rights, 1st Amendment to the Constitution, "Freedom of speach, freedom of press, freedom of RELIGION." If thats what the authors put into the Consitution of the United States, then why are so many religious groups within the US fighting over who is right, and whose path to salvation is correct... Personal thought here, They are all right, depending on the individual.

Exactly. There is a saying that "all roads lead to Rome". Well I believe that all religions lead to the creator. No matter the path taken we all strive for the same desitnation to be with our creator. I accept the fact that what I practice may not be what you believe, just accord me the same courtesy. One religious shoe type may not fit all.

Freedom of Religion is suppose to mean any religion. BUT, because of the main stream religions feel because there are more of them and less of other religions they are more right. Not so. Christianity, Judaism, Al-Islam, Jehovah's Witness, Mormons, and the rest are right in what they believe except one thing, they feel they have the right to judge the other religions. Not only do they judge the other religions, they judge each other. Freedom of religion is all religions and it should be treated that way. Unfortunately, we have bigots among us. Stop judging and start loving. Just advise. Peace be Upon You.

First of all, Salvation from Sin is only through faith in Jesus Christ, which is developed through relationship with Him, and has nothing to do with religion. Christianity is the only faith whose deliverer died and rose again, and is the only faith which teaches that salvation comes only through faith and not what kind of person you are, how successful you are, or who your parents are. God is no respecter of persons, meaning He does not play favorites. The gift of salvation is accepted or rejected as a matter of personal choice. For those who choose to accept Jesus as the Son of God, and the Savior of mankind, the promises of the Bible are manifested in their lives, and for those who reject Him, the curses in the Word are theirs, and it does not matter what the color of your skin is, your national heritage, your social standing or the size of your checking account, everyone receives the results of their decision. Christianity is about accepting God on His terms, and religion is about changing God to what is socially acceptable or politically correct. If you choose the first, this world is the only Hell you will ever experience, but if you choose the second, this world will be the only Heaven you will ever know. Lastly, God does not recognize or rule according to the Constitution Of The United States, or the Bill of Rights. He is God, and there is none greater! In Job 38:4, God asks this question,"Where were you when I laid the foundations of the Earth?". Remember, truth is absolute, it is not contingient upon belief or unbelief, they only determine how truth affects your life. Christianity is Faith Without Compromise, and Religion is Compromise Without Faith.

As far as First Ammendment Rights go, yes. Freedom of Religion means freedom to practice ANY religion. Yes, there are those who will insist that their religion is the only right one, and that's for them to believe. But the meaning of that right is that the government cannot tell you what to believe or what religion to practice. It also gives others the right to disagree with your religion for their own.

I agree, freedom of religion is something our fore fathers fought to achieve. There are many who do not read the Constitution or just do not understand it. If every one would respect other religions there would be more peace in the world.

In the USA your rights extend only so far as they do not infringe upon the rights of others, and... there are limits to the freedom of speech and to freedom of religion...
your freedom of speech does not allow you to incite violence...
your freedom of religion does not allow you to do break the laws of the country... (except in a few specific instances)

Freedom of Religion to me also encompasses Freedom FROM Religion. Freedom to choose to not be a part of all the dogma, hypocracy and religion wars. Anyone agree?

There is no compulsion in religion. Its your own personal choice. People who judge people do not have the knowledge about their own religion.

in a word, hypocrisy. many demand you believe as they believe, and not as you want. they would deny religious freedom to you, thinking they are right and everyone else is going to hell. as far as I'm concerned, hell is of one's own making. as is heaven. don't stoop to their level by judging them, but ignore them. it's a far more powerful weapon, and it irritates them no end to be totally ignored by anyone.
