In order to keep you from hurting yourself while asleep, the nervous system paralyzes your ability to move muscles of all types.
That translates to you feeling that you can't move, because you can't.

It may be that you are stuck somewhere in your life....like in trying to make a big decision, and you can't seem to figure out yet what to do, and you probably feel an urgency to arrive at a solution, and feel like something bad might happen to you if you can't, or you might feel like time is running out if you don't come to a solution within a certain period of time.
My impression is that if you look inside yourself you will find that something like this is happening to you, and if you consciously work on your real problem, those dreams will change. Also, right before you go to sleep, make a decision to ask the figure chasing you in the dream to back off and give you some slack. Remind yourself to turn around and look at the figure in its face and you can be sure you will get some relief.

This dream is a regression back to your childhood. The series of bizarre misunderstandings that were the your first 12 years on this planet reveal so much through your dream.
It should be all clear to you.
I suggest that you take a notepad and a pencil and leave it on the night stand as you drift off to sleep tonight. As you awaken, capture your thoughts on paer -- in written form or through pictures of the thought moving through your mind.
If you see a tree for instance -- draw a tree. Does your tree have roots? The answer to that question is most important.
Capture your thought and comeback for more guidance as you have more for me to work with.
Eat a peach.

Dreams, and reoccurring dreams in particular, are our brain's way of processing, and in some cases alerting us to various emotional things that happen in our waking lives.
So you are having this dream, over and over again, because there is some situation in your life that you are not addressing, or perhaps even aware of.
The trick to interpreting the dreams, is to think about the way you feel when you are having the dream, and then figure out when during your waking life you experience the same emotion.
