Wow..where have you been? "lol" means "Laugh Out Loud." It may tend to be overused at times but the writer can't make you hear them on screen.

Originally it means "Laughing Out Loud". Used when you see something funny. But it means more than that through the days. You can express your sacartism, excitement, or when you agree someone else's opinion.
