yup, strange, liked some of the other stuff too, thanks.
I wonder if it is a fake most root systems are not that shape. It might be a Shoot that grew up from the roots of another tree, and is mutated.

It is clearly a hoax. There are no leaves on the trees or on the ground. Someone pulled it out of the ground and put it in somewhere else.
Tree roots no matter how it is planted grow down. If the tree were to live for any time at all the roots would not grow up. It is physiologically impossible for a tree to grow naturally in that way. That is of course excluding the lack of foliage to produce photosynthates to maintain growth.

It relies upon on the tree. Many timber would produce new roots from their branches and new branches from the trunk. it may well be style of like rooting a reducing. One technique of propagating some timber os to mattress a branch into the floor and keep it buries until it has rooted and sprouted new saplings, and then transplant it.

How interesting. They inverted the tree and took a picture of it in Fall. You can still see vegetative growth of surrounding plants from the past season clinging to the base of the tree trunk and dangling down.
