Age really doesn't matter much. But the verbal abuse can cause a lot of damage to you mentally and emotionally,
It sounds like he's insecure and wants to keep control over you. I know that can be a very difficult relationship to be in. But you can do better than that and find someone who truly respects you and loves you unconditionally.
Just because he has issues, doesn't mean you have to put up with the abuse. Leave him,(Which I know is easier said than done) But you need to find the strength in yourself and move on.

Verbal can be just as bad if not worse then physcial,

kick his sorry *** to the curb and move on, there are plenty of MEN that will treat you like a lady out there...sound's like he's still a boy and or is trying to get over for being "short man" in the pants too prob

The easy answer for me and everyone else to say is to leave him. The problem: easier said than done.

My ex was physically, verbally, and emotionally abusive.

I'll tell as I will tell anyone else.
You will soon have to make a choice about who do you love more; him or you. Hopefully you choose yourself. Only then when you realize you love yourself more than that man can you get the strength to leave that man. The road isn't easy but what would we learn if it was?

Good Luck & if you ever want to talk, contact me.

Unless you are a masochist, look for someone else. Verbal abuse in many ways is worse than physical abuse because it leaves no visible marks, but the psychological ones take much longer to heal, if they heal at all...

He is way to old for you. He probably can't get a woman his own age because he knows he is abusive and mature women won't put up with such crap. I think you should tape record him and then let him hear how he sounds when he is abusing you. I bet he doesn't realize how awful he sounds. Then if he still won't change you need to leave and find a guy who will respect you.

If you have to ask you already know the problem!! Throw the problem out along with him!! Find a young guy about 25-26 yrs old and show him how sensual a mature woman can be!!! Be his Mrs Robinson and enjoy life!!!

Honey...run and run fast and don't waste your time looking back. This man is set in his ways by this age and it is not going to change. If you think it will, it won't. I married a man 13 years older than I. I thought I could help him and eventually he would change, whew!.....7 years later I ended up leaving. He loved me and loved me passionately, but his other behaviors just couldn't be tamed...you will find someone who appreciates you enough to be just who he is and you still love him, and he you. I know it can happen, find that respect for yourself and the rest will follow without your even realizing it did. I promise :)

GET OUT...sometimes verbal abuse is worse than physical.
I dealt with both. bruises and cuts go away, but mental scars last a lifetime. I can't remember every punch or slap I ever received, but his hurtful words still haunt me and I find myself still doubting myself because of what he said, even 10 years after leaving him.

Ignore him like the rest of the world. This behavior is not worth your time... Get your self one that is 15 years younger rather than older. (19???? and you at 34.... He will worship the ground you walk on!
