You're probably responding to "Light Therapy." This is when people who are depressed sit in the area of very bright lights and, supposedly, eases the depression.
Snow is very clean and very white. When the sun comes out after a good snow the world looks as clean and as peaceful as it's ever gonna get! I love the way life looks after a good snow! It even smells cleaner!
Anyway, the sunlight reflecting from the snow is probably what's easing your depression. I think most people feel good when the sun comes out after it snows. It's very bright and clean.

Its sorta the other way for me!! I dont get depressed from the snow, but I like dread the winter!!!
Maybe you just have some sort of memory or something that you cherish about snow. so it puts you in a happy mood.
I would elaborate more if I had time, which is why my answer sounds dumb!!! lol

there is an actual condition that is similar to what your are experiencing. it happens to people when the time changes and the days get shorter. due to less daytime people often get depressed and show many signs of simple depression such as headaches, no energy, lack of motivation, and staying inside and to ones self. if you like snow then i guess it seems plausible that your depression could go away when something that you love comes back into your life.

it is cold it is fresh and clean and it makes you feel happy inside for when you know when you do have to go out in it. the time to enjoy a warm cup of coffee, coco, and watch the snow fall it is nice and sit by the fire place if you have one or by the heater it is nice to see.

Perhaps because it is so white and crisp, and the weather changes when it happens. But some people have an opposite reaction.

Because when it's snowing it is rarely cloudy and it's bright colored!
