Don't get me wrong I'm not racist or bigotted. I think its great to remember where you came from, but isn' t it divisive to our nation to always point out race? ie: Anglo-American, African-American,Native American etc . etc. I was born and raised in Canada but when I moved here and naturalized I became an American. Just curious if others think I'm out of line.

hyphenated-americanism is an offshoot of political correctness, an artsy-fartsy, politically 'enlightened' ***-kissing contest. It's also part of the foundation of Entitlement Programs Of All Perpetuity, a liberal drug-dream whereby Money Makes It All Better, Now Give Mommy A Big Smile! Oh, so cute little minorities! Koochee koochee koo! LOL Better to replace all that with the Swift Kick In The Pants Act, that basically states you need to get off your miserable, whiny, self-entitled hip pocket, and Seek Honest Work, Dammit. Bringing people up to believe that they're entitled to a Free Ride does 2 things: Pre-loads the tax system with one more unfunded liability in the making, and steals the natural motivation of the would-be entitlement recipient.

America doesn't need entitlement recipients, it needs WORKERS. More than that, it needs Independent Business Owners. People that make stuff, invent stuff, do stuff, without being part of some giganormous Mega-handout program.

Once upon a time, there was no Free Ride, hence no one waiting around to catch the 5:30 welfare check. Now, who knows what it amounts to now, but point is, robots are coming. Robots are very equal-opportunity. They don't care what color, gender, religion, sexual orientation, or gender they replace. They just go on, doing what they're programmed to do, day in, and day out, day in, and day out, until bearing/relay failure. Asia builds robots.
Asia uses lots of robots. Some asian countries treat their CITIZENS like robots. That's 'the competition'...

you are the biggest hater around. you're a tragic little guy that has no destiny and you reside to tell the tale this talk board 24/7 with your nasty butt in the united kingdom, hatemongering on individuals consistently. Being you're British, your hatred and condescension come definitely in direction of the vile British subculture, yet your obsession in doing it comes out of your psychological disease. people such as you are the reason this talk board will constantly be a cesspool.

Well said.

I refuse to do it, myself, but around here (Atlanta, GA), the media, especially, tip-toe around the black population to an extent that would make a cat laugh. This includes saying things like "African-American".

It's stupid and divisive. The activists need to keep people separate so they can keep their jobs. Without that people just might actually spend more time looking at similarities than differences. I actually think that it is racist to segregate yourself in that manner.

You can thank the American school system for the differentiation and hyphenation. You can also thank the national census; these are valid on those questionnaires.
