"Cardio" exercise is another word for aerobic exercise - any exercise that raises and maintains the heart rate, like walking, running, dancing, riding a bike or an exercise machine. Aerobic exercise burns calories and fat, and that is the best way to reduce your stomach. So-called "spot" exercises will not reduce a single area. Some "spot" exercise, like biceps curls with weights, or sit-ups against resistance will build muscle in that area and make it appear more defined, like a "six-pack", but these do not reduce fat in one area. Only losing fat through diet and exercise will reduce the stomach size.
