Looking for your opinions and feeling on conducting this service. Did you see the trial as fair?? Did personal emotions play a part coming to a guilty or inocent plea? Just recently served and my panel deliberated for four hours to come to a guilty conclusion. Just wondeding about other peoples feeling's and experience's.

Yes, I have.
No, we did not let emotions play a part in the decision.
to be honest, all 12 of us would have liked to have found the other way, if we had gone by emotions ... but instead we went by the letter of the law and the information given during the trial, and made what was by all accounts, the legal and logical conclusion and verdict.
We deliberated about 2 and a half hours after a 3 day trial.

Two trials, two convictions
I felt that the trial was fair. Several of us did talk about how the system was pretty fair but the world in general was not. Emotions were not really a part of the deliberations, but personal experiences did. I was very impressed by how serious everyone of the jurors took the task.
