I haven't converted, and never heard of anyone doing so. I have known and heard of many people, however, who realize that religion doesn't make sense to them and become secular.

Great question. I have been both ways. I was raised a believer. I turned away for a few years and then I came back. I came back because there was this constant emptyness in my gut and void in my mind and a deadness of spirit that I just could not bear any longer. I changed my mind by reading the Bible on a regular basis....not from cover to cover but beginning with the Gospels and the Letters of Paul and Peter.
I wish and will pray for you on your journey. I am very hopeful for you.

I realized that the ego god that is presented in the bible and other religions was the problem, not my belief. In fact, the very fact that I rejected the ego god as a complete contradiction with respect to Unconditional Love made me tread the path to the real God. I did this unknowingly, though, because I was still not a believer. I then had a complete surrender one night and Unconditional Love was glimpsed -- so ... not belief but experience brought me to a different perspective.

Most people start out not believing in him and he chooses who will hear his call and who won't,its him alone that calls the shots not us....People think there in control, but there wrong the only power anyone has is the power that God lets us have from above,so I didn't come to him on my own he let things happen so that I would come to him,,And I did...He knows the past present and Future ,He is the same yesterday today and forever......I came to Christ because I was in a pit of depression I had no choice but to come to him,Suicide would not help,I would have to face him there as well, So I decided to turn my problems over to him and let him worry about them....and that's my story...

I was raised athiest and am now follow a polytheistic earth-based path. It wasn't a conversion of my beliefs but just a shift of recognizing deity in everything around me. I think that's what happens to everyone who "finds god" - they just see something new in the everyday.

No...isn't going to happen because question is the principle upon which human growth continues...If I settle for anything that can't be concretely proven than I have to continue to question it's validity. PEACE!
