To muslims only?

Question

do feel your being sometimes harrased by none muslims because you are muslims, i've been through, i've been called a terrorist, a jihadist by my teacher
i just want to know what have you muslims have been through, being what you are

Alhumdillah I have not had to much. But being a Muslim women in America you have to have a tougher skin. I also wear the face scarf and so I got some pretty bad comments. Mostly though elderly people would say things to me. I just let it go in one hear and out the other. The only time I was scared was once I was walking with my kids, both under 2 and in a stroller. I was crossing the street and traffic was backed up because of construction so he had time to fully harass me. He was yelling all kind of profanity and saying things like go back home towel head, take that thing off your head, ect.... He was leaning out his window and beating the side of his truck. For a second I thought he was going to get out. I just kept walking and ignored him. I honestly think if it would of been night or no one around he would of hurt me. But I have recently made hijrah to Egypt and no longer have to worry about this stuff.

Isn't this the book you live your life by??? Name a recent or current terrorist who is non-muslim. Christains, Catholics, Jews, Buddists, Scientologists or any other religons do not declare "Holy Wars", kill in the name of their God (don't mention the crusades because it is ancient history), or strap bombs to their chests and run into public buildings full of women and children. You expect not to get harrassed? Religon is a choice, it isn't like you get harrased because of your skin color or anything that you were born into...Note that to the guy that posted an answer about racism and ignorance.
And look at the answer above mine, the teacher may be wrong, but this guy says he "should be dealt with" and if his daughter is ever harrased it will be a bad day for the whole county school system...sounds like more violence, more killing, more innocent blood spilt.

I'm a Muslim but I have never been spoken to like that. Well maybe that's because you can't really tell I'm Muslim. If your teacher really said that to you, you should report him/her. Don't take that kind of bu!l sh!t from anybody. Just because you're a Muslim, doesn't mean you are a terrorist or any different from any other human being.

as salaamu alaikum my brother,people are very ignorant and what they do not know scares them therefore they act out in the only manner they know.I have gone through a this behavior at work.I hava site to give you ,get in touch with me,this is a group that will uphold Islamic rights,your teacher has no right speaking to you in that manner and should be dealt with. the first time my daughter comes home and tells me of an incident like this in school it will be a bad day for the whole county school system.as long as we give respect we earn the right to be respected.May Allah protect you from such ingorance. wa alaikumu salaam

I'm not muslim... but I definitely agree with you. I've witnessed it A LOT here on yahoo! answers. People are ignorant, and apparently don't have the desire to open up a book and learn something. They would rather jump on the band wagon with all of the other ignorant people Sorry you have to go thru all this hatred.

Actually nobody dares to say that i am a terrorist in my face!! certainely i heard alot of comments about us and alot in yahoo answers actually but i really don't care because i am just a peacful Muslim Girl and i am proud of that...Just try to ignore those stupid people and get over it...

I was Muslim in 2001, for my own spiritual growth I forged my own path to GOD. One thing I learned is that people are ignorant and wish to stay that way. The narrow minded neo-Christians are the worst ones in forcing their Faith on others even though Jesus said love one another. in the Koran it states "...to you be yours, and to them be theirs..." the Christians, Jews and many Muslims can not tolerate differences in faith even within their own religion. So my only advice is keep what ever religious views you want but keep your faith in your GOD, and remember you are smarter than the ignorance around you in the world.
