You can only get an associate degree (a two year degree) from a community college, and they are considered schools that handle the first two years of college. They are much less expensive than private schools. If you were looking for a bachelor's degree, and knew what you wanted to study, they would work fine, but you would need to transfer after completing two years worth of classes.

Also, if you are unclear about what you want to major in, community colleges are a good place to try things out.

Private schools can get you a bachelor's degree, possibly more. A bachelor's degree or higher has a much more practical application in the world than an associate's degree.

How much the quality of education differs depends on the school. There are good teachers at both types of institutions, but the quality of students might be lower at the community colleges.

If the question has anything to do with financial aid, if you qualify for it in the right ways, the cost could be the same for you to go to either a community college or a private school - free. You would need to talk to a counselor at one of the schools or your high school to get a better understanding. Also, fill out a fafsa (www.fafsa.ed.gov/) if you haven't.

A private college or university is primarily funded by private monies [tuition, donations, grants, endowments, etc.] Of course, they may get,say federal funds, for research and other projects.

"public" colleges are those primarily funded by public [state or federal and sometimes local] funds that come from taxes. And these institutions are usually governed by people [Board of Directors] appointed by elected officials [such as a state governor].

Harvard is private. The University of Mass. is public/state.

"Community colleges" are usually publicly funded, usually fairly small educational institutions, usually without graduate [MA and PHD] programs. They are sometimes private.

The federal government runs very few colleges - the major exceptions being the military institutions - West Point, the Naval Academy, the Air Force Academy, etc.

One difference is that a private college does not receive public tax dollars. A community college is a tax supported institution.

private colleges do not accept aid from the government, and are more expensive to attend because of it. a community college is a state funded school that is generally non residential, so you commute to and from it, rather than living in the dorms. its less expensive than a private school

they're authentic. notwithstanding, that's genuine. Employers do seem at them like a funny tale. seem at it this kind. you are able to earn your degree everywhere else, pay a lot less, and be taken slightly more effective heavily. UoP is a lot too extreme priced and not in any respect worth it in any respect. you are able to end an friends of Arts in criminal Justice at an section college for far less and that's more effective respected than UoP. tell me your state and that i'll inform you more effective constructive faculties (on-line) that you'll end your degree with.
