I have thought a lot about that one, and incredibly, it has never happened to me before. The person on the other side might not know (except if someone flushes) but the other people in the room might think you're a bit inconsiderate (that's what I think).

I consider it rude. Hopefully no one has done that with me but my son used to take his phone into the bathroom and I told him it was disgusting.
No one should be so rushed they can't go to the bathroom without a phone in their hand.

I think you should ask the person on the other end of the line if they care. I told one of my friends to stop calling me if he was going to do that. Grossed me out! Also, I feel completely uncomfortable being in a stall and some woman next to me is yammering away - I mean, do I wait till the end of a sentance to flush??

No, that is the best time to be on the phone. Nothing is more fun than hearing my girlfriend on the other line say, "Yeah.. I was at the.... urrrggghhh MALL today...ahhhhh.. >plop-plop< and I got a new pair of shoes.. "

Depends on who your talking to and if you make any obvious sounds or not.
Friends/family, go for it. But I wouldn't do a phone interview for a job while on the can.

It depends on if you're talking SH*T, than yes it's acceptable. If you are having a conversation that is worth having, then put them on hold or call back.

well.... it depends on the person that you are having a coversation with and on the subject and if it is formal or not.
for me, i talk with mom or my husband at times in the toilet if i am busy. and they appreaite my value time.
and my husband does the same as he can't talk to me while he is working.

Why not - and if you are a bit thoughtful the conversation partner won't even realize.
