Saying goodnight to your living room before you turn the light off, grasping the stairs or railing with hands like a claw and sharp eyes, shying away to whisper in the utter darkness of your room or bathroom - would you call this superstitious or.. am I right in thinking if it doesn't hurt, why not try it? I'm not living in a 'haunted house' mind you, not anymore.. But I do feel traffic passing through..

Why bother? If there is some spirit hanging around in your living room, the time of day in the physical world doesn't exactly apply to them anymore, does it?
PS: If they start talking to you, "happy" pills can make the voices quiet again.

Everyone has there quirks...I have mine some the same as you...people who ask the question am i crazy aren't because really crazy people never realize it...and I say if it makes you feel good and more comfortable then do it and don't worry if its wrong or superstitious or whatever else :)

Anthropomorphizing objects is a basal human instinct. I wouldn't be too worried about doing it if it has become a habit, but if you think you HAVE to do it to appease some ghosts or something, you might want to look deeper into your state of menal health.

As a retired mental health practitioner, and as a Christian, I'd say you've been staying inside too long. Go get a girl and have a good time. You need to get out more. Unless you've been attended to by God Himself or one of His Saints or Angels, but ruling that out, you need to, what's that saying, "Get a life!!!!" God Bless you.

I guess if it makes u feel better. But I would say its not necessary nothing gonna happen coz u didn't say good night to ur room. Do u have OCD? I don't do it my self I just go to bed.

I see people saying good night to animals like dogs, cats or fish, but to non-living things. Unless those things are possessed.
