It isn't even close to a chronological telling of the earths history. It's a lot of stories about specific things written by alot of different people. The stories are all put together in the same book because supposedly they're all inspired by the same god.

1) the oldest book in the Bible is Job and it talks about dinosaurs right there.
Also if it swam or walked on the earth it was made on day 5, see Genesis 1
2) Is human kind so full of pride and arrogance they believe they have all the answers, (sounds a load like a certain fallen angel in the Bible).
3) Human kind can be as logical as they like, science is right there in the Bible. The Bible discusses things people at that time in history had no answers for.. like the earth is round. Or do people think its flat still? (Job i believe).
4) So called "Myths "of dragons and lake monsters and big foot still exist even today.. i wonder where all those ideas really came from you people. I don't think the dinasaurs would have all fitted on Noahs Ark do you? But if they swam they survived right???
5) Creation theory the Christian site will answer many of your questions i believe.

There are monsters and dinosaurs in the Bible, read some of the horror stories. Only monsters would behave like that.
Believers of the Bible can believe whatever they wish, because they can take any impossible, horrific or stupid statement from the Bible, twist and distort it, then interpret it to say what they wish everyone to believe.
Everything in the Bible is fantasy, but lots of people seem to enjoy the tale.

there are .... there not called dinosaurs.. all life before the flood was large. even people. the oxygen content was greater. look at the reptiles now they never stop growing if the oxygen was like it was back then they would be 100 foot tall or more. i will have to look up the bible verse where they are mentioned...
i have read allot of the answers given. they are mentioned in job. but to the ones that were there when God made everything... oh ya none of us were there . that means the scientists . if you want to believe that science knows all . you will end up in hell with Satan . God made everything as he say in one week that means 7 days .... 24 hours in a day ... if it took 700 million years the bible would say 700 million years. the bible warns not to add or subtract from it.

Because the bible was written before there was any kind of reliable science methods. Once they were developed, the stories in the bible started becoming implausible to intelligent beings. A few people actually claim that the Leviathan is a dinosaur, in order to reconcile scriptural texts with reality.

it didn't say dinosaurs exactly, but it did say something about land animals in the beginning right? About them being created on the fifth day or something like that.
Also take in fact that when the bible uses a week to show God's creation, it is not literally a week. God did not literally create Adam and Eve a day after all the land animals. In reality, it was millions of years. The week thing is just symbolism

One should not take an literal interpritation of scripture that was never intended by it's authors to be understood that way
Christians explain dinosaurs and other extinct animals the same way as every other right thinking individual.
The lived millions of years ago, and died. When they died their remains were slowly converted to minerals and fossilized.
Fundamentalist freakos on the other hand insist that the world is only 5000 years old and that God put the fossils in the earth in order to make it appear as if it was older. Fundamentalist freakos are apparently more comfortable with the idea that God is a bald faced liar than they are with the idea of scripture being interpreted in any way other than literally. I weep for them, as does God.

there are dinosaurs in the bible
the word dinosaur is not used because the word dinosaur was coined 200 years after the king james version was written.
the bible gives a couple dinosaurs by name: behemoth and leviathon, these can be found in the book of Job i believe.
obviously they dont have the same names as we have for them today

because the Bible is not supposed to be taken literally. nothing in the Bible is _wrong_, per se, but it's not supposed to be literal.
for example, the story of creation in Genesis. You could read it as God actually creating the world in 7 calendar days. You could also read it as a Hebrew narrative device to maintain the chronological order of the tale. Maybe it took 700 million years, not 7 days, but that's not _inconsistent_ with a good faith reading of the Bible.

There are dinosaurs in the Bible and they are not hidden. However, there are many other things in the Bible that are hidden from those who have not had the Scriptures opened to them.
