I've got a boy cat and he is so dopey. Nearly all the girl cats I know are really snooty and hiss whenever you go near them, they never want to play and sit on their own all the time. My boy cat however is very easy to cuddle and has never ever hissed at me. Is it just me or are boy cats more friendly and playful?

boy cats (toms) are certainly more playful and loving. We have two and they are fabulous animals. previously we had she cats and though they were lovely they were not as fun as the toms. at the end of the day it all comes down to how they were brought up.

Well, it honestly just depends on the personality of the cat. I have 3 cats, 2 boys and 1 girl. One of the boys is a Ragdoll, he is generally friendly and follows you around, but that is the Ragdoll trait. The other cats are not certain breeds. The girl is very friendly most of the time and will hop up on your lap and is very playful. The boy is playful but mostly shy. It's all in the personality, not the gender.

Cats are just like people they all have different personalities. I've met snooty girl cats and snooty boy cats. Both of our girl cats are dolls and are as sweet as can be, playful, and friendly. One thing I notice about girl cats is they appear to be cleaner. We have three boy kitties and they make a mess in the litter box and they are the only ones I've ever seen going to the bathroom in other places. Both Lola and Amy cover up their mess and cover up others messes too. In raising foster kittens I've noticed this too. Different people and preferences over the sex of the cat. My parents only want girl kitties because of their experiences where my husband wants boy kitties. I am partial to both.

oh - its you,...

cats are a lot like people. They are very receptive and impressionable while still at a young age. If you give them a lot of attention (like children) & lovin. They are more affectionate and playful in the coming years.

Though getting the boy cats FiXeD, does have a lot to do with them being less aggressive & more affectionate. Kinda makes you wonder if it might work on Guys.

Are you sure the girl cats hiss when you're around, , , , its not one your friends cutting a weak fart?

It really dosent matter ive had both genders on cats too but its just their own personalities and the way you treat them but most of the time it could be male cats are more cudly with females and female cats are more with male but theres never a good answer to this question.

All cats have different personalities.... It really depends, I have heard males tend to be more friendly and out going, my males are fun, but, I have a long haired female who is an exception to the rule......

(I have 4 indoor cats, 2 female, 2 male)

not necessarily. i have a male that is a super grouch. he only wants love on his terms and it's definately his way or the highway. my females are VERY lovey most of the time, but none of them care much for little kids though so to the kids the cats are all mean.
it really just depends on the cat....they have their own personality and each one is different. :)

It is really about personalities. I have a female and she is very loving and sweet. I have also had male cats and they have NEVER sprayed.
I would sit in a room with a group of kittens and see which one you connect with...either male or female.

Cats have VERY unique personalitys. My opinion male cats are more dependent and like more attention...while females like wandering, being frisky, being nosey..I also see some of these traits in my male cats, just not as strong.
