How can you tell somebody that they aren't your type without being mean?

How can you tell somebody that they are not your type without being mean? An example being that you're at a club with friends and someone asks you to dance. Just having fun you dance with them. Now they want to get your phone number or give you their number but they aren't your type. You are not attracted to them. What is a nice way to say no thanks or tell them that they are not really your type? You might see them again so no ditching people or getting the number then tossing it away. And I know not to only go by "types" of people, you have to get to know them. This is a simple not attracted question about dating.

Just say thank you, but I'm involved at the moment, or that you have too much on your agenda, to see anyone at the moment.
That may stall him off, so sometimes, the best way is to be honest with him.
Be as nice as you can, there is no way, you can do it, without him feeling bad. Depends on what he was after.
Some guys, just hit on a girl, knowing, that they have no chance, but are willing to try anyway.
So he may already, expect a no answer.
It happens to guys all the time, when they ask some girl out, some say yes, many more say no.So we are all used to that now. It's not life threating, just part of the dating scene.

Well there is really no way of putting it better other then im not intrested or you're not my type. It happens and there is really no way to get around it.

being completly honest is the best way. Tell him that right now your not intersted and that you just want a friend

just be polite firm abnd too the point and say sorrie not interested walk away, never look back, etc, alays has worked etc, just say also have a nice day, see ya, adious!!

just tell them that yr not ready for anyone in yr life right now. this would be the nicest least hurtful way
