My big sister makes fun of me and takes pleasure in treating me like I'm stupid. I love her dearly, and she loves me, but sometimes I don't think she likes me much (yes there is a difference). How do I deal with it? (Please don't say get over it, because it's not that easy)

Wow this is a tough one. Siblings are a fickle sort. I have a brother whom I love dearly. But if we were not related I am not sure we would be friends. I think that because we are related we develop a higher tolerance for each other. You could try to talk to her, but that probably wont work. The thing that you need to understand is that when someone picks on another person they are deliberately finding what they consider to be faults. When they do this they are making themselves feel superior. They do this because they have a flawed self esteem.
I am sure your sister loves you very much. As you grow up you will get along with her better. You will hopefully accept each other flaws and all and realize that you are both actually people not just sisters. I hope this helps.

You being a younger sister always gets the wrath of your older siblings. I would talk to her and let her know how you feel about the way that she is treating you. Let her know that it hurts you and that you feel that she should think about someone other than herself.....
I would venture to say that she really doesn't take pleasure in doing this to you; she probably does this when she is with her friends...doesn't she.....once again, this is normal with the older siblings....is it right, no it is not. You should try to understand that she really does not mean to be cruel to you...it is just peer pressure...

You just said you love each other, so why would she hate you?!? She is just being a sister! Siblings always pick on each other. If you don't want her to treat you this way, then let her know how you really feel. If she continues to act this way after you talked to her, then have a talk with your parents and see what they can do about it. If nothing works then the best thing you can do is ignore her. If you know yourself and who you really are, then her words shouldn't get to you. Be proud of who you are!

There's always a difference between loving and hating. There must be somthing you do, that she doesn't approve of. Or something you do, that she's jealous of you. And/or you simply make wrong decsions, all the time. By the way- how old is she?
These days, from what I've seen, big sitsters arn't always older, but taller.

Talk to her! Tell her that when she treats you that way it makes you feel unloved, sad, etc. Be descriptive of your feelings so that she understands and gets the picture. If she tells you she's just messing around, then just ask her to please not mess around with you in that way. Tell her you don't appreciate it. If she doesn't stop, then the best thing to do is remember that it's just the way she is and try not to take it personally. If you can't address it in any way and it makes you feel incredibly sad then maybe the best thing to do is to cut off contact with her for a while so she gets the picture. Eventually, she'll come to her senses, and hopefully apologize.

Talk to your sis.Tell her that you love her alot and that you wish she would show that she loves you and would stop making fun of you.Don't let all your sis's teasing get to your head.If you know that your sis loves you then whenever she makes fun of you just think in your head "i kno she loves me" or say out loud "I love you sis",giver a hug then (if you can) leave.

It won't stop. So rather than try to stop it, just build up an immunity. It is only when she moves out, and the two of you don't live with each other, that she will become nicer to you.

i don't think she hates you. hate is a very strong word. i think she just likes to tease u and make u feel bad because thats the way she shows love.
