A couple reasons:
1. The bible is bullsh*t.
2. It is logically impossible to have 'free will' concomitant with an 'omniscient' diety; all you can achieve in that case is the ILLUSION of free will... i.e., you THINK you have free will, but you really don't.
So, IF god is omniscient, THEN you CAN NOT have free will. IF you have free will, THEN god CAN NOT be omniscient. If he can't be omniscient, then he's not omnipotent, either.
Quite a dilemma, huh?

"for everyone to truley have free will....then it is possible that all people could accept jesus christ...." YES, this is correct - except...
Getting ALL the people to agree.
"but the bible already says this will not happen" - What?
Are you refering to brother-against-brother? This just confirms that FREE WILL was given by GOD so that when you believe and are a follower you will be comfortable. And if you don't you will be comfortable. The compassion of GOD is that no matter your choice HE has made it possible to be comfortable in your skin.

It is a tough question. One not easily answered in a short forum like this. Basically, because we have a free will, does not mean that we will necessarily choose the right path. Take America for example. Gather together the strongest, most loyal people you can find and give them a goal. I think you will find that immediately there will spring up people with differing ideas of how to accomplish the goal, others will gather in groups to discuss the matter, and so on and so forth.
Even to us humans as we look out at human interaction, we can see that not everyone is going to want, or do the same things, no matter how good or bad it might be for them.
God knew this of us. While its not His intention that people be lost, to force them to His view point would turn them into automatons and not people with a sincere desire to be a part of who and what He is.

We no longer have a free will. Adam and Eve had a free will and they chose to sin against God. When sin entered the world, the free will is gone.
Romans 8:7 the sinful mind is hostile to God. It does not submit to God's law, nor can it do so.
So you are right in saying that we cannot choose to accept Jesus as our Savior. The fact is that we believe because the Holy Spirit has created faith in our hearts through baptism and hearing the Word of God.
We do have the power to reject God though.
Romans 2:8 But for those who are selfseeking and who reject the truth and follow evil, there will be wrath and anger.

The notion that blood washes away
sin can be traced back to Cain and
Abel in the Garden of Eden.
It doesn't matter if there was a
garden of eden. It doesn't matter
if there was an Adam and Eve, or a Cain
and Abel. The point is that there was
somebody, and some sort of omen, that
led those first ancesters to believe
that blood sacrifce was the key to
Godly forgiveness. And that notion
spread as the tribes spread. Thus,
most religions today include some
sort of blood sactifice as a pathway
to heaven.
Allow me to humbly say this: if you want
God to forgive you, forgive one another.

It was obvious that only a small percentage would accept.
The Bible stated the knowledge that it was so.
possibly the following will help understand >>
~~~~~~~~
Salvation ==
Imagine standing on the roof a ten-story building. A parade is going to start in the street below. It forms, it begins, and it travels the parade rout length and then disperses. All this happened in your view.
This is the way OUR GOD sees us! Before our birth HE knows the complete and whole story! But HE also orchestrated our "parade rout" before we were even born. Before we were even born HE knew everything.
Romans 8: 30. Ephesians 1: 5. Ephesians 1: 11.
Jesus died on the cross ONCE FOR ALL.
Habrews 10:10 By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.
ALL men are given the opportunity to believe or not believe Christ.
John 3:36 He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.
Yes, there will be those who do not believe.
John 12:48 He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my words, hath one that judgeth him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day.
I hope this clears things up for you.
I could say because of free will.
Take a 1000 people and try to get them to agree on anything. There will be at least one person to go against the crowed.
There will be individuals at the end that will tell Christ, "You're just a man not God and I don't believe in you" to his face.
They don't have to, no one and nothing is making them do that, it is them they will not.
No one has to die in the lake of fire, but many will, and some would rather do that than live in heaven
Don, the answer is obvious, won't you reason with me? Not everyone has free will, Its another riddle for humanity to figure out. I know I have free will As I know my boss doesn't. People choose to give up their free will to follow guidlines that are designed to exclude others, and rewards the follower in some way. Often one of those ways is to reject the spiritual sense, and people imagine that because they have gotten themselves in too deep that they cannot return to love. Misery truly does love company, so the cycle continues. No free will allowed.
A universal acceptance of Jesus will never happen because it is not a rational decision to make, plain and simple. It takes a vast amount of faith and not everyone is willing to sacrifice reason for a possibly non existent friend.
free will means that people can or can not chose to accept Jesus. the Bible does not say that. You have to ask Jesus into your life. if you are ready say this prayer: Jesus come into my heart and life i want You as my lord and Savior forgive my sins Amen
