I believe that God chose to inspire the Bible w/ "fairy tales" and "simplicity" inorder to test all those who truly seek and love God and..those who don't really love God are easily "turned-off" by the Bible's "style". Agree>

I think it's a great example of metaphor and morality to teach people how they should live. I don't understand why many people can't grasp the idea of metaphors and mythology being perfectly legitimate tools to teach a religion... it's been done long before christianity came around.

Not really agree with you on the fairy tale part.

God calls some and others He does not.

I have many questions, but I will discover the answers when I get a new heavenly body. We are only here for 80 some years...on earth, that is. This is just a drop in the bucket compared to an eternity. We could not learn everything in 80 years. I, for one, can't wait to get a new body and be physically close to Jesus...yahoooooo!

The Bible is the divine word of God, BUT in an extremely edited format. The Roman Catholics decided to pick and choose what we would get in the early 100's and then King James finished the job. The Old Testament is most accurate because it is preserved as the Jewish Torah.

for starters the intire bible was not found some pages were missing so no one could realy say that they know the complete bible.and lastly there are other books that are just as old or older than the bible that have been found.the only reason people accept the bible over any other books is because the trend of religion was created and the bible just happend to be one of the books that people chose over the other books.there isnt anything about the bible that makes it anymore credible than any other books.its just the peoples choice.

After doing my own studying (not taking the 'preachers' word for everything) I find in the original languages have the best info and simply have the greatest and simplest message. Love God and love your neighbor. All else is details, with many stories about what happens when people don't.

I may believe some things, the beautiful ones that teach lessons of life....
But then again, the Bible was written by humans, some times I just don't know what to believe in anymore.

I started reading it a while back but then I got mad because what was said was completely the opposite of what science proves to us...

I don't believe the bible because it was written by a bunch of chauvinistic, homophobic men. This is also why I don't listen to a word George Bush says. Blessed be.

Although this has been a huge topic of discussion to debate whether or not the historical facts (tying into the writing of the Bible and all of it's internal suggestions about how we became to be) are true, the question remains the same for us all...
DO YOU BELIEVE IN HIM OR NOT?
sorry to infiltrate with a question of my own...
AL Be good to each other. : )

I don't believe it because it doesn't make much sense and I think if it is in fact from God, it should make perfect sense.

I choose to believe "Conversation with God" instead because it makes sense. Check it out - it is direct to the point with no non-sensical, ambiguous stories.
