According to Christian thought on the subject:
In the book of Psalms we read: "Every wild animal of the forest is mine.... I know all the birds of the air, and all that moves in the field is mine" (Psalm 50:10).
Would not a loving God want all things that he has made to live with him forever? A hint of this is in the book of Revelation, which teaches that evil and the power of death, which are a corruption of all that is good, will be completely defeated and a new world more glorious than ours will arise. God's promise is: "See, I make all things new" (Revelation 21:5).>
"And the lion shall lay down with the lamb."
P.S. Whether people like it or not, HUMANS ARE ANIMALS TOO.

"The Bible teaches that "all flesh shall see the salvation of God" (Lk.3:6) and that "all the living things in creation - everything that lives in the air, and on the ground, and under the ground, and in the sea" will praise Yahweh and the Lamb" (Rev.5:13). God's care and love extends to even the humble sparrow (Lk.12:6) and He has promised that He will restore all living things (Ac.3:21; Eph.1:10). Death as a whole will be annulled or abolished (1 Cor.15:25-26; 2 Tim.1:10) and the whole creation will be renewed (Rev.21:4-5). The resurrection will affect all celestial (heavenly) creatures and all terrestrial (earthly) ones (1 Cor.15:35-42). There will be a world-wide restoration of all life in its perfect frame - the curse pronounced by God after the Fall will be reversed - parasites will no longer live a parasitical lifestyle, carnivorous animals will become vegetarians, and all will be at peace.

I don't think the Bible says anything specific about animals "going" to Heaven, but my dad has mentioned that it does say something about animals being in Heaven, with no mention of whether they were there to begin with or were the souls of animals from the earth (I haven't looked into it myself). I'm not sure where it is, but it may be in Revelation or some place where Heaven is being described.

If ours go to Heaven, hmm-don't know. However, this passage:
Isaiah 11:6-9 (King James Version)
The wolf also shall dwell with the lamb, and the leopard shall lie down with the kid; and the calf and the young lion and the fatling together; and a little child shall lead them.
And the cow and the bear shall feed; their young ones shall lie down together: and the lion shall eat straw like the ox.
And the sucking child shall play on the hole of the asp, and the weaned child shall put his hand on the cockatrice' den.
They shall not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain: for the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the LORD, as the waters cover the sea.

There is no mention of animals in heaven. In fact they are viewed solely as beasts of burden or even horrible monsters (read Revelation).
I doubt they have any way to be judged, so how could it be determined whether they go to heaven or hell? I know it feels nice to think that 'all dogs go to heaven', but it just doesn't make sense.

Look at Romans 8:20-22. The whole creation is to be redeemed, not just human beings. I think that means that animals -- along with the rest of creation -- will participate in the age to come.

In this regard, human death does not differ from that of the animals. They too are souls, and the same spirit, or life force, energizes them. (Genesis 1:24) At Ecclesiastes 3:19, 20, the wise man Solomon tells us: “As the one dies, so the other dies; and they all have but one spirit, so that [in death] there is no superiority of the man over the beast . . . They have all come to be from the dust, and they are all returning to the dust.” Man was superior to the beasts in that he was created in God’s image, reflecting His qualities. (Genesis 1:26, 27) Yet, at death humans and animals alike return to the dust.

I grew up being told that my "pet" died and went to heaven. True or not? I really dont care. Because i will always believe that all "pets" go to heaven. They are "part" of the family and always will be! However, in time, there will be ANOTHER pet!!

There is no definitive answer for that.
It is presumed that since animals have no souls (and who decided this is up for questioning), and you need a soul to go to heaven, they do not go to heaven.

Assuming that animals do not have souls, I would have to say no.
