i personally dislike the taste of beer, but wonder why so many people drink it; wonder if they actually enjoy the taste.

Beer may be an acquired taste. You may not have found the beer you like. I don't like all brands of beer. Different brews have different ingredients thus different flavors. There are so many micro breweries I would have to believe that there is a taste out there for you. Many micros give a sample shot for a taste.
I have started some Home brew and have received some compliments , not that difficult if following the recipe and instructions.

I can't stand the taste of beer... it's nothing but hard liquor for me. I can't even get tipsy off of beer, but it's different for everybody. My friend really likes the taste though, so I'd say beer drinkers actually do like the taste.

I actually enjoy the taste of a cold beer on a hot summer day. Nothing goes down better.

I hear ya I feel the same way. I've asked a few and a couple said no they really don't like the taste but after the first two or three go down the taste doesn't matter anymore, so I guess it's for the cheap buzz.

I used to hate beer, but I have grown to love it. I think the key is to acquire a taste for the bitterness of the hops; after I began to think of the hops as herbal and floral, instead of just bitter, I found I liked them. Then I branched out into less hoppy beers and found I liked them too. Another key: drink good local craft brews, and stay away from the mass produced schlop that Budweiser, Miller et al. try to foist off on us as beer. It stinks.

Most probably drink it for the taste. (Personally, I think it nicely complements the taste of certain foods.) Hard-core alcoholics are probably looking for a buzz, but beer has much less alcohol than whiskey. So, Jack Daniels has a much higher "buzz factor" than Bud. Not that I recommend getting snockered anyway.

I enjoy a good beer. I like the taste of beer, especially a good dark beer with lots of earthy warm nutty flavor. A good beer should make you think of liquid bread.

I enjoy the taste of certain beers. There are definitely different flavours and qualities of beer. My top picks are Alexander Kieth's and Sleaman's Honey Brown.

one hot summer day when i was 4 i was watching my dad clean out his truck. for some reason or another, there was an unopened beer can in there, which i took and drank. boiling hot. but anyway before that i always wanted sips of beer, and when i got older my mom would buy me non-alcoholic beer. so i've always liked the taste.
