My husbands last name is his mothers maiden name because she was not married to his father and she was 16 when she had him.

yes because she changed my last name to her husbands but he isn't my father and i just wanted to use the name i am used to. her maiden name is bland her husband is bradford and my dad is exxon. i just like bland

I do because my parents are not married. My fathers name is lame, plus I have no respect for my fathers family.

In Mexico you use both your dad's and your mom's lastname.
I wish I could make up my own last name though.
