I am an Ex JW with 15 years in the cult now deprogrammed
The doctrine is a twisted fabric of half truths and and total misconceptions.
They preach openly hatred toward other religions.
Turn a blind eye to spousal abuse toward women.
turn a blind eye to child abuse teaching openly spare the rod spoil the child.
They teach hatred toward those who do not believe what they do and that god will rain horror to the other 6.2 billion people on earth and that is is gods will they all should die. they teach only a select group of them 144,000 the anointed ones will be welcome into heaven and these people are chosen in Brooklyn
the rest of them will be left on earth to clean up the mess of 6+ billion lost lives and all the dead no matter how evil in life will be brought back given a second chance and judged over 1000 years. (yes even Hitler, Stalin, Genghis Khan, Mao tsa Tung, Pol Pot you name it) Those left over in paradise will live forever.
Christ was never nailed to a cross (even though this is historical FACT) in the new paradise even the animals will be harmless vegans.
Grapes will grow as big as basket balls, and only the righteous (them) will be left over.
But to learn the real truth about what they are really like look at the web sites run by ex JW's

In general, they are a denomination of Christianity which started in the 1870s. Catholicism, as you know, is the largest denomination of Christianity. JW however, take a more analytical approach to the Bible. Charles Taze Russell, an American evangelist, started something known as Bible Student Movement. The JW are a prominent part of this movement.
Their principle beliefs include Unitarianism (they say the Trinity has a pagan origin), they believe Jehovah (which is actually a corruption of YHVH) is the name of the Christian god, and they believe the Bible to be the literal word of Jehovah. A good way to sum up their beliefs is through the term "Fundementalist Protestantism".
They have a sort of governing body within the movement, made of elders who do the tasks of evangelism along with the laity. The Watchtower is also a magazine which includes JW content.
Basically, they attempt to follow original Christianity - just like many denominations claim. Historically, however, original Christianity is hard to recreate.

"actung_heiss" pretty well sums up what Jehovah's Witnesses believe.
"I love oregon"
Just about everything this guy says is a "lie", for some reason he hates the Religion that He once belonged to, so you can see why the scripture says: "2 Peter 2:22 But it is happened unto them according to the true proverb, The dog is turned to his own vomit again; and the sow that was washed to her wallowing in the mire."
Why doesn't someone ask "I lov oregon" why he and these other ex JW's he mentions are "ex" JW's? Here are some reasons one can be removed from
the Congregation, "Some of the offenses that could merit disfellowshipping from the Christian congregation are fornication, adultery, homosexuality, greed, extortion, thievery, lying, drunkenness, reviling, spiritism, murder, idolatry, apostasy, and the causing of divisions in the congregation. One can also remove himself or herself if they so desire. Unlike other religions, we keep our congregations clean.
This is where most of the negative answers come from, disfellowshipped or apostates, A disloyal person who betrays or deserts his cause or religion.

Firstly, the term "sect" seems unnecessarily demeaning. Secondly, the proper name of the religion is "Christian Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses". Their name can properly be shortened to "Jehovah's Witnesses" or "Witnesses" or "JWs".
Jehovah's Witnesses understand the Scriptures to teach that God's Kingdom will soon replace all earthly governments.
(Daniel 2:44) God of heaven will set up a kingdom... It will crush and put an end to all these kingdoms, and it itself will stand to times indefinite
That Kingdom will rule over the vast majority of mankind, most of whom will have been raised from the dead after Armageddon.
(John 11:23,24) Jesus said to her: “Your brother will rise.” Martha said to him: “I know he will rise in the resurrection on the last day.”
(Acts 24:15) There is going to be a resurrection of both the righteous and the unrighteous.
Until that resurrection, there is no suffering in "hell", or the grave. Sometime after the resurrection, death and "hell" will themselves be destroyed.
(Ecclesiastes 9:5) For the living are conscious that they will die; but as for the dead, they are conscious of nothing at all
(Ecclesiastes 9:10) there is no work nor devising nor knowledge nor wisdom in Sheol ["hell"]
(Revelation 20:14) And death and Hades ["hell"] were hurled into the lake of fire
While a limitted number of humans will be resurrected to heaven to share in ruling over mankind, the vast majority (literally more than 99.9%) of Jehovah's Witnesses expect an EARTHLY hope, the same hope given to Adam and Eve.
(Genesis 1:28) God blessed them and God said to them: “Be fruitful and become many and fill THE EARTH and subdue it [caps added]
(Genesis 2:17) You must not eat from it, for in the day you eat from it you will positively die [so never eating from that tree means never dying]
Interestingly, the Scriptures are full of references to this earthly hope.
(Psalms 37:11) 'the meek will possess the earth'
(Proverbs 2:21) 'upright will reside in the earth'
(Isaiah 45:18) 'God formed the earth to be inhabited'
(Matthew 5:5) 'the mild will inherit the earth'
(Revelation 21:3) The tent of God is with mankind

JW is banned is several countries because it is a cult. You warp people's minds so they don't even want to visit their families. JW takes all joy out of life, including holidays, family, etc.
Oddly, JW encourages you to be poor and unsucessful. What a bunch of loosers.
People who try to leave discover that all of their JW "friends" will brand them and disown them. Now, that's a cult.

They deny most of John's gospel. They use their own per-version of the Bible to support their beliefs, since the scriptures themselves do not support them.
