i believe it's matter of the jewish messiah coming forth as a sword-wielding, enemy crushing warrior type which jesus, obviously, is not.

Try, "all of them" with the possible exception of the requirement that the Messiah must be Jewish.
Here's a mere example:
- The Messiah is supposed to be a descendant of Kings David and Solomon. Since he was not Joseph's son, adoption being irrelevant, and matrilineal lineage being irrelevant, thus Jesus was not a "son of David".
As an aside, the New Testament is irrelevant as far as Judaism is concerned. What is relevant is what Christians call the Old Testament, or at least its original Hebrew form.

I'm not Jewish, but I can give you one. He did not establish his government when he came. Have you read the Old Test? There's nothing there that says he will die, then return at a later date to establish this. It says when he comes, he will establish Godly rule once more to Israel. *watches the news* Nope, that didn't happen.
