I'm 16 years old and I have never had a boyfriend. I would like to date guys but I tend to turn them down because I think that they just want to have sex and I am not ready for that. Does this mean I shouldn't have a boyfriend if I'm not ready?

Not all guys are lookin to have sex when they meet a gurl. Believe it or not there are great guys out there that are into way more things that dont involve sex at all. You are 16 u should just try to find sumone who has the same interest as u, but by turning all guys down u arent helpin yourself at all, becuz then maybe u wont ever be able to get a date, not all guys are perfect neither are us females but u have to start somewhere.

First of all, you are under a mistaken belief that all guys want is sex...that is silly. IT is very easy to say NO when it comes to that. IF they push you, then drop them cold! You need to start going out with this or that guy....do not get involved with anyone..you need some social experience, and that is the way to get it. IF you sit home alone, it is a sure way of not getting hurt, but it is a very expensive path to follow, for you will not be equipped to handle social scenes as well as you should be able to. And NO, you do not need a boyfriend to be a whole person. Good luck

Not all boys want to have sex. Get involved in some group activities and you will meet a boy who likes to do the same things you do. Friendship grows into a relationship and then you can decide about sex...

Whether you date or not is completely up to you. But don't assume that all that guys want is sex. Yes at that age their homones are going berzerk, but that is something you have to deal with. If you date them and all they do want is sex...dump them then...otherwise you'll never know. But do try to be patient..what they are feeling or urging for is not their fault....not controlling themselves is. Young ladies your age are feeling the same way....women can control it a little better.

If you can't have a boyfriend that you aren't sure will respect you, then you shouldn't have a boyfriend. There's lots of time anyway when you graduate from high school and are thinking about what to do with your life.

it's fine if you want to date, but you need to let these guys know before hand that you are waiting for the right person to give yourself to, if they leave or reject you then they weren't the person you should be dating, a person who actually likes you will respect your decision to wait and actually stick around and get to know you for you and not what you can give them sexually....

Go ahead. If they just want sex and are your age level, they're not mature. There are other guys, though.
