Okay, the U.S. Army accepts new recruits up to age 42. As far as being harder for older privates than younger ones, the physical fitness portion might be a little, though, the army does take age into factor when considering the physcial fittness of a soldier. As far as being co-ed, yes, certain posts offer basic and advance training with male and female soldiers in one unit, but living quarters are seperated during your intial training.

Not hard at all. You just have to deal with being told what to do. The PT standards are adjusted for age, so it won't be as hard as if you were say 18.
As far as being co-ed, depends on where you go. Ft. Benning, Ga, no-- it's all male. Ft. Leonardwood, Mo,-- mostly co-ed.

There's no all-female basic training, if that's what you mean by co-ed. Army basic recently got all sissy-fied. A lot of us were quite put out. I actually know an AIT DI who got yelled at for yelling at a soldier.

It's all mind over matter. Put your mind in neutral and do what you are told. Anyone can do it. And yes, it is co-ed. At least in Canada it is.
