All the Southern States like California, Arizona, New Mexico, Texas, Colorado and up to Montanna was stolen from Mexico by the Americans through wars and ethnic cleansing. No ofense but America was founded by criminals don't they teach history in school(The real History),and know the problem is since the land was taken from mexico illegally mexicans know it's their birthright and that their indigenious to the lands, and it's not fair to kick mexicans off their native lands even if they crossed illegally because the lands were stolen from them illegally.

Mexico didn't recognize the indepence (and annexation) of Texas until it was forced to do so under US duress. the US did pay for it. Pennies an acre, and again, Mexico was forced into doing it due to the American occupation of the capital. And all of this after an invasion brought about by Polk on false pretenses.Alot of people think is right to say they should get out, Get out of were? They have more right than you and me.after all lets not forget this was their land.

Your right....It was stolen from Mexico and to this day Mexico DOES NOT recogized the treaty that was signed by Santa Ana and the US govt. He acted with out the consent of mexico.....Except we really don't here about this in the American history books right?

"The U.S. government sent troops to Texas in order to secure the territory ignoring Mexican demands for U.S. withdrawal. Mexico saw this as a U.S. intervention in internal affairs by supporting a "rebel" province. In the war that ensued, the United States kept over half of Mexico's territory, including land comprising the present states of Arizona, California, Colorado, New Mexico, Nevada, and Utah. Mexico lost nearly 2,000,000 km² after the war and received $15 million for the lands from the U.S" From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

So while Mexico was in the midst of the Mexican Revolution, the US govt. saw its chance to invade those states, which belong to Mexico.....They knew they couldn't fight back, since they were in the midst of a civil war, so US stole the land, LIKE IT OR NOT, its a fact, US stole those states from Mexico.

A few points here:

1. Arizona, New Mexico and Southern California were actually bought from Mexico--Its called the Gadsden Purchase

2. Texas(except for an area along the border called the Nueces strip) was very sparsley populated and the reason for Santa Ana allowing settlers was because his own people didnt want to come north. The settlers were not given the rights they were entitled to under the Mexican Constitution of 1820 and as a result they revolted. There were NO american forces in Texas at the time of the Alamo and it was only after Santa Ana came back into Texas after it has applied for statehood did we have any Military action.

When the borders were set it was according to the old boundries already agreed upon.

Learn your history before spouting gibberish like this.If you want to be Mexican then go to Mexico. The land is not going to be returned. If you dont like this country then exercise your rights........to leave it permanently.

Dear GL:
Everything you mentioned in your posting regarding the Mexicans and the land happened long before even my great-grandparent were born. It's not that I do not understand the issue, it's just that like a lot of other problems of the past that I refuse to bring up, what can be done about it today?
Should one protest? Then who would listen?
Should one demonstrate? Then in regards to what, where, and against whom?
Even if it is not a part of your position, there are those that might advocate violence, and that never solves anything.
The "criminals" you refered to were actually those unwanted souls of ancient England found guilty of crimes within the judicial system of the period that were basically faced with two choices: immigration or the death penalty.
Plus, there is an additional factor that must be considered. History has clouded the issue over the generations since the original events occurred. Can any amongst us say with 100% accuracy what truly happened way back when? I know I can't.
Your heart may be in the right place, but I honestly do not think that anything will be accomplished in this Don Quixotish endeavour.
Sincerely yours...

Have you read history, most countries were taken over by War. Romans and English are big examples of forcefully taking over other countries, so what new if America took over part of Mexico. If Mexicans want the rights to their birthplace then lets have a War. To the victor go the spoils. Yes America was founded by criminals, but the same criminals built this country to be recognized as the the most powerful nation in the world you Idiot, where people like you have been given the freedom of speech. Some countries are know to Annihilate generations for speaking against the ruling Government.

The key word here is 'WAS'!! This WAS the land of Mexico, the country of Mexico, the government of Mexico. Not the people of Mexico, and certainly not the present people of Mexico. If they have not applied for and gotten legal documentation allowing them to be here, they have no right what so ever to be here. An honest price for the time was paid for the lands that were bought legally from the Mexican government, leaving no right at all to any Mexican citizen for land that is now part of The United States of America.

So the answer to your question is 'YES' the USA has a perfect right and legal duty to send back or kick out as you so eloquently put it, any Mexican who is not here LEGALLY. Just as we have a legal right and duty to welcome with open arms any Mexican who comes to us seeking a better life with legal documentation. God bless the LEGAL immigrant.

Illegal means illegal. I think it's ridiculous that you idiots cannot accept the fact that the Mexicans have no claims over any of the land you say are theirs. The US has borders and they should be respected. Hell Polk talked of annexing all of Mexico. Be glad that we didn't, then you would have to find something else to complain about. To bad we didn't then we would not have all these stupid, uneducated, racist Mexicans invading today. They all would have received a good education and be good US citizens.

Yep, Americans have the right to kick illegal immigrants out of the USA, regardless of where they came from and what color they are! As for Mexico, they need to stop living in the past - the war is over, they lost, the land is not theirs anymore! And, as someone else here said, apparently the land belonged to France before it belonged to Mexico? Ha! Also, as that person said, if we give the land back to Mexico, then it makes sense that Mexico has to then return it back to France! For crying out loud - give it UP already!

That's a good point. For me I don't see anything wrong with the illegal immigrants unless they're bad or planning to harm our country. I think that they just want to make a better living. And when jobs were open, that the immigrants are now taking, when the immigrants weren't here Americans didn't care about the jobs but now since illegal immigrants are taking them they wanna get all mad and stuff. America is a selfish and controlling country if u ask me, and that's why a lot of other countries don't like us becuz we try to change their way of living when we really need to leave them alone.

Yes, and the country of Mexico belonged to Spain and then France before the Mexican people stole it from them. We'll give back Texas to Mexico if you will give Mexico back to France. Sound fair?

The US has every right to kick out illegal Mexicans as the Mexicans have to kick out illegal Americans.

This is specious. The land became ours in the same way land came to belong to the current owners of land everywhere. Mexico treated its people the same, and the Indians didn't want the Mexicans here, and fought them as much as we did.

If this were Mexico they wouldn't be coming here, now would they? They want what we have and want us to pay for their education and services. We certainly have a right to say who we want to spend our money on.
