More people are living together and more damage is being done than ever before. The excuse is, there is nothing to tie us down or marriage is just a piece of paper. Yeah, right!!!
Living together more often than not produces the following:
Emotional pain if not disaster
Physical pain (often due to abuse)
Psychological pain ("what did I do wrong?")
Financial pain (he/she owes me xxx$ and he/she won't pay)
Sexual pain (I've been used)
not to mention children that are born illegitimately that won't have 2 parents (and very little if any child support)
No commitment (because a person can walk out with little or no legal stuff)
Too often, living together is problematic. To me, it is an exercise in futility.

I do think more people today are just "living together" than ever before. It's lost a lot of the stigma that used to be attached to it. I also think that the line between living together and marraige is just a piece of paper, ie. the marraige license.

people that live together are afraid of commitment. if something goes wrong they can pick up and leave, without all the paper work of a divorcee. why buy the milk when you can get it for free?---old saying. or why pay for the garage when you can put your car in for free? people don't like taking on to much responsibility like they did in and before the 50's.

Living together prior to marriage, people have both positive and negative opinions about it.
Some say that living together prior to marriage increases odds of divorce (how? I don't know.)
Others say that living together prior to marriage lets both people see how things work out, and if they can maintain a healthy happy relationship, when they live together. It's like a ''trial run''.

I think its more common. I think mostly cause if you live together, it lets you know if your compadible for marriage...you know if they snore, or don't flush the toilet, don't rinse out the milk in the glass..that sort of thing.
