Yes, it is a great form of exercise as it tones up your whole body. Despite what has been said...it is not much of a calorie burner though (in comparison to running, aerobics and weights) and I wouldn't expect to lose much weight.

Absolutely - and one of the best, as you use so many different muscles. Even a leisurely swim, can burn up to 500 calories per hour, depending on your weight.
Personally, I love to swim.

Of course swimming is an exercise it maybe the easiest on your joints ect... but yes it is n excise
